This course was focused on the process of social innovation and understanding its interconnections with social entrepreneurship and social enterprise. This was done by analyzing the processes of social innovators of the past, and guest lectures from other successful social innovators so we could learn about their stories. We also learned about human centered design, which is essential in the process of social innovation so that you can develop solutions which are tailored to your solution space and audience.
Within the course we were also put into teams and tasked with developing a social innovation of our own. My artifact for this course is my team’s final presentation, which focused on developing an I&E specific concentration for each major. The presentation is attached below, and our focus was to provide more opportunities for students to get involved with the I&E curriculum and have classes that require them to think of innovative solutions to problems.
